SEP | SCWN September Luncheon When: Noon - 1 PM, Thursday, September 23, 2010 Topic: - "Using Our Gifts in Different Seasons of Life" Speaker: Lee Harris Ballenger
"God's calling throughout my life has been different from what I expected it to be," Lee says as she shares about how she has learned more about who God is through the seasons of her life. "God continues to show me more of who He is and I have treasured seeing amazing new glimpses of the Lord's grace, love and wisdom through the weave of His tapestry. I have also been more aware and been convicted that sometimes when I think I am serving the Lord, maybe the work is more about serving my own idols. God loves to show us the truth, and cares about our hearts. I am thankful our Father is using even my failures to draw me to Himself and is redeeming what looks messy on earth for building His kingdom." Lee Harris Ballenger grew up in Chattanooga and graduated with a bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University through the PSI program (now Richmont Graduate University). She worked as a counselor at GPS/Girls Preparatory School, Chattanooga Bible Institute Counseling Center, and Covenant College. She has left counseling for a season to work at home. She is married to Ross Ballenger and they have a 9 year-old daughter, Molly. Lee has been involved in women's and children's ministries at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church and has enjoyed serving in various volunteer roles at Fairyland Elementary School, including recently being elected to the School Advisory Council.
